Installed new graphics card; missing NvMcTray.dll and NvCpl.dll

Hi.

I've installed a new ATI Sapphire Radeon X1950PRO 512MB graphics card into
my 3 years old, 2,00 gh, Pentium 4, Fujitsu Siemens MS-6547, with a Micro
Star MS-6547 board and Windows XP Home SP2. When I restarted the PC, these
error msg's appeared: "Error when loading C:\WINDOWS\system32\NvMcTray.dll.
Failed to locate component" and "Error when loading
C:\WINDOWS\system32\NvCpl.dll. Failed to locate component". The screen also
blacks out when I start a fullscreen-game. I'm new here so I hope the info
I've provided is enough. If not, I have "Belarc Advisor" installed and can
provide all info you need.

Thanks in advance for helpful tips.

Do you have Nvidia motherboard installed on your system?.

If you don't you may be infected with malware/Virus:

I know this one - NVidea Graphics Replaced by ATI Radeon.
The dll's were removed during the uininstall of the old
video drivers (NVIDEA). The references to these were not
removed from the startup list and the control panel sections
in the registry. You need to locate these references in the
registry, and remove them. Some data or keys will be
readonly or need admin rights/permissions. Simply
right-click on that key and change the permissions for the
nv series components (that were mentioned) tghen simply
hilight and delete (either at top key level or sub key level
for the keys).

You and me look eye to eye regarding security issues and tools. I have
relied on avast! for many years now and many of the tools on bitdefender are
my favourite anti-malware programmes.

I did check for viruses, trojans and soforth, using both online and internal
systems; no infections. It looks like Lester Stiefel is closer to the
solution, because I copied the 2 missing modules back to system32 from the
ReInstall Backup folder, and the error msg has gone missing. I will now try
to find the references to the files and remove them.

It seems to me though, that my biggest problem might not be related to these
2 files. My monitor blacks out when I start any fullscreen app. or the "clock
configuration utility" in ATI CATALYST Control Center. There's no other way
to switch the monitor back on than cutting the power to the computer. Any
ideas?

In Romans 1 there are qualities of Unregenerate man listed
which describe him in the last days.
Is your quality found on this list??
This looks interresting... I copied the missing files back to where they
belong from the reinstall backup folder and the error msg dissapeared. I'm
not used to run diagnostics on the computer, so I need a little help finding
the references you talk about. I remember once having opened a utility called
"reg edit" but I don't remember where to find it. Nor am I sure that it's the
utility I need to open. (?) I'll keep it simple: Can you hold my hand and
guide me through this?

Another thing: My monitor blacks out when I start any fullscreen app. or the
"clock configuration utility" in ATI CATALYST Control Center. There's no
other way to switch the monitor back on than cutting the power to the
computer. Any ideas?

Yes, Lester Stiefel did nail the problem well.
But did you have the NVidia Graphics Card installed before?.
Try to Disable the ATI CATALYST Control Center by doing this:
Open run command and type in:
msconfig click [OK] on the Start up uncheck the entries for the
pre-mentioned files and the ATI CATALYST Control Center from starting up.
Please provide more info about what you uninstalled and still on the system.

Yes, I had NVIDIA graphics card and my motherboard is a Micro Star MS-6547.
I deleted the 2 dll's in the regedit (I found it!) and unchecked them in
msconfig. Both reappear. The CATALYST C.C. isn't listed. Here's an outtake of
