install game error

i have Win2000 Pro on this comp, and when i install a game
(Starcraft), it installs about halfway and then gives me
a "

ERROR #131(ox85100083)"
D:\install.exe
"

i know the cd isn't scratched, because i borrowed a copy
from my friend, just to see if mine was bad...

so...i tried looking for windows error codes, but didnt
find any that matched my code (0x85100083)

i used to have Win98SE on this box, but upgraded about 2
weeks ago to Win2000 Pro....the game (starcraft) ran fine
before that, then after i upgraded, it gave me this error
message, so i uninstalled it and tried to re-install
it.... gave me the same error message...

any help would be great, i guess i'll keep searching for
windows error codes in the meantime....

Install service pack 4 which does help with some problems. Go to
http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=wStarCraft000 and see what you find on
the subject. You could try a forced install but it may not work, anyway.
http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=nNews0101p is about error 131 but not
Starcraft. It may apply to starcraft, also.
