install from administrator account requires administrator

I've tried to install printer drivers for a Canon i560 in a variety of ways, but always get a message that says Administrator Privileges are required even though I'm using the administrator account in Windows XP Pro. I've tried installing from CD, from downloaded file (including "Run as") and by using the Add Printer Wizard. Tech support says its a Windows problem. I hope I don't have to do a clean install. Can anyone help

try to go to local security policy ,under local policies , user rights assignment , check the load and unload device driver which administartor there or not, and check security options , prevent user from installing printer driver , enable or not
although it might not help , just give it try .
