image placeholders after installing IE6- fix?

I recently installed IE6 again after losing outlook express. Noe I get image placeholders (red X's) on many websites. This happened once before when I installed IE6 but something I did removed it. Is the problem solved in internet tools? Or is the browser blocking the images.
