I'm getting an Avast error, can anyone help?

When trying to scan a file using the right mouse click, I keep getting this
error:
"Error: During open ATL dialog, Error number: 2".
I've already reinstalled the program.
Can anyone help?

I haven't seen this error. Does Settings|Log Viewer|Error provide
any info? If no help is forthcoming, submit your questions to Avast
support.

Google shows many threads on 'ATL dialog errors' concerning C+
programming and ActiveX involvement; you may pickup a lead there.
I don't know squat about programming.
