I'm an Admin on my machine, but it's not giving me admin privileges

Ok, can someone explain to me what happened? The power went crazy here
in Texas like constantly turning on and turning off. My cpu is on a
surge protector, but... yeah... So I'm the only user profile on this
cpu running xp and although I am still listed as the Admin I cannot use
control alt delete nor restart my cpu from my profile (I have to log
off and then shut down/restart). I can swap my profile back and forth
between user and admin when I create another user profile, but it has
no effect. The other profile will give me full admin privileges. Any
suggestions other than just creating a new profile? Thanks.

I can't explain it other than you got a trojan in, because I've had a similar
problem
.. Anyone else know what we can do ??
