IIS - The Handle is Invalid

Hello can anyone help with an error I am getting when
trying to connect to the IIS Server.

when opening IIS an error is returned...

Error connecting to "servername"
The Handle is Invalid

It was a fresh install of 2000 and then I tried to restore
an IIS backup. That ended in an error that said the
backup file was bad. I rebooted and tried to open IIS and
got the above error.

Please help

Hello Again:

The event Log gives this error message...

Unable to query the IIS Info service performance data. The
error code returned by the service is data DWORD 0.

Still need help
