IE closes when attempt to type in search bar......

IE closes when attempt to type in search bar at MSN
homepage or when typing in passwords at Match.com why do
i get an error message that
says "ie has encountered a problem and must close. we are
sorry for the inconvienence....Do you want to send an
error report?" I've sent several.?

There's a good possibility that this is being caused by a third-party
program (adware, spyware, parasite).
