I was trying to load XP Pro on to a PC that had no OS, it
seemed to be loading fine, but after the partitions were
set and it started to install I got an error message that
said there was a parameter error at E:\I386\asms. I looked
the error up on the self support site and follwed their
directions
which was copying the file fro a start-up disk. Every time
I typed what they had I got a bad command or file name. I
am already outside of my return policy, help.

Hi Jeremy,

I assume you were looking at this article?

Err Msg: The File 'Asms' on Windows XP Professional CD-ROM Is... [Q311755]
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=311755

Did you note that the copy command only works if you are formatted to
fat/fat32?
Did you check the 3rd section of thte article on verifying that the file
exists?
