I386\asms

XP PRO. I reinstall from fresh since repair could not do it. I am asked about
a SP1 disk, which should not be necessary to install from new. Else how could
anything have been installed before this pack became available? Error msg
says "file " (which it does not say) "cannot be found on I386\asms.
However, out of sheer patience, every time I let the system reboot and I am
asked to insert the sais CD, the installation has gone one more step (if I
judge by the advertizing posted by the system e.g. "Try the easisest Windows
yet"
However, when I look at the population of that asms folder on the CD, I may
have to wait dozens of times before I go over all these hurdles. And what
kind of installation will I end up with?
Any help?
Thanks,
Pierre

www.smartprojects.com and download ISO Buster a CD,DVD recovery tool
Pop the cd into the drive and start this application and then extract the
