I want to type Japanese... but the IME that I downloaded did not w

I have Microsoft Office 2003...and i downloaded the Japanese language pack.

When i install the IME, a message pops up and says that i need "office
windows xp".

is there a IME for Microsoft Office 2003?

I would like to type Japanese in Word 2000. Running Win2000.
Did not originally buy "Office 2000 with MultiLanguage Pack", I
don't think... I just bought Office 2000 Professional OEM with
the computer.

I am taking a Japanese class and would like to produce typed
hiragana/katakana/kanji.

How can I get a Japan IME for my setup?

An OpenOffice solution would also be fine.

No help in the knowledge base after ~ 2hours of hunting so thought
I'd ask here.
