That's a send error, so I can only address the send aspect.
It looks like you are getting a port 25 block. Was your Internet connection
being obtained from Verizon when you got that error message, or were
you using a laptop away from home?

Your account name in that error message is wrong. Check your account name (it is not
incoming.verizon.net) in your SMTP error message

Yep, that's a port 25 block, as I thought.
What you experienced is normal. As a general rule, the owner of
the SMTP server you are using must be the same as the company
furnishing your Internet connection at that moment. For more on this see
http://www.postcastserver.com/help/Port_25_Blocking.aspx

The available workarounds when encountering a port 25 block are as follows:

1. Use webmail for sending (via your browser).
2. Ask your home ISP (Verizon) if they have a port other than '25' for SMTP.
What you might try as a test is replacing port 25 with port 587 in this screen:
Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties, Advanced.

3. Cricket is a 3G wireless mobile service. If you use it 100% of the time,
you can substitute the Cricket SMTP server. This is a bit tricky, but if you
want to go that route, I can provide more details.
4. If you frequently send from multiple locations using random Wi-Fi hotspots,
get a free Gmail account, configure it for POP access, set it up in Windows
Mail, and use that for your sending chores. Gmail uses port 465 for SMTP,
which is not blocked like port 25 is.

You know the drill.
Right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.
