I cannot access the New York Times Website. All Else OK.

The only website I know of that I cannot access By IE6 is
www.nytimes.com. The problem has persisted since my
return home after a week away. My ISP has been unable to
resolve the issue, except to suggest using Netscape
instead of IE6, which I have done. Nobody at NY Times can
offer me an explanation. The website works fine through
Netscape, but there are some features of IE6 that I prefer.

My IE6 message is the usual 'The Page Cannot Be Found' -
HTTP 400 - Bad Request

Any help, suggestions would be appreciated - email
preferred.

It's interesting that you posted almost simultaneously to my post on the
same issue.

The only way I can reach NY Times is to use Netscape, or to use my wife's
computer. She has IE 6.0 also, but is using Windows XP Home edition.

Make certain your time, date and time zone settings are all correct.

Delete any NYTimes cookies.

Disable (temporarily, at least) any firewall, "system" tool (NSW, NIS,
anything by McAfee), and pop-up/ad blockers.

Did any one used your computer while you were away?

If yes then check these out.

It may be a HOSTS file problem.
Look also for a file named HOSTS (no extension, could be hidden) rename it
OLDHOSTS, reboot.

IE 6.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

Let AD-Aware Scan your system for advertising Spyware

and:

SpyBot-S&D

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.

I don't know if this will answer your problem, but Kelly has a tweak
at line 155, right "repair loss of internet access...certain websites"
(Kelly's Korner is a treasure trove on XP information.)
