I can receive email from AOL but cannot send to an AOL email

I am trying to send emails to my AOL account. I get no error message. But the
email just does not get there. I can log into AOL and send and email to my
work email with no problem.

I am running MS windows XP professional and MS office outlook 2003.

I have read most of the relevant emails but when I go into tools and email
accounts I do not see any box to click on for the authenication some of these
emails refer to.
