I always have to shutdown/reboot twice

Ric

Hi,

I'm running Windows XP SP1 (all current updates) and have a strange problem
recently with shutting down. Whenever I try to shut down or reboot, nothing
much seems to happen. Then I try again and it works as expected. But I've
always got to do it twice. I've done a little searching but so far have come
up empty.

Anyone seen this problem?

Thanks,
Ric

Hi Ric,

Here is a excelent article to help diagnose shutdown problems.

http://aumha.org/a/shtdwnxp.htm

Also you can use " Force " to close the program which is not closing
properly. ( This option should solve the need to click shutdown twice. Be
sure to save any data as this force closes all running programs )

Karens Show Stopper.

Hope this helps
