Most annoying.
It used to work.
Now, It's not detected as a scanner, but it shows up in device manager under
"Unknown" as Hewlett-Packard PSC 750 Scanner". (Pretty precise for
"unknown", eh?)
The PSC is functional in all other respects.
The HP Docs mention that there are supposed to be "DOT" devices in device
manager, which I don't get.
HP says it's a problem with the MS end, not seeing the scanner as the first
part of a multiple device.
I've been to MS with this, and their solution appears to be to have me
uninstall, reboot, install, reboot, and repeat this process till I get tired
of it, or it starts working through quantum disturbances.
I'm running XP Pro, with all the latest patches installed.
Yes, I've installed other software since the scanner last worked.
I actually use my PC to do things, not just to admire it.
