How to send report footer to word footer

Hi,
I have created a report that is 12.7''long (details section). Also this
report has document header, page header and footer footer. I export this
report (one record at a time) to rtf but name *.doc.
Both report and page headers work ok, they are on top of document (report
header) and top of each page (page header).
Now, for some reason, report footer does not go to foother section in the
word document and is placed at the end of the document.
Additional problem, because of the length of the report and ability to grow
or to shrink, some of the reports are longer or shorter, and some of the
fields are transfered to the second page (as I would like them to), but the
first field on the second page is bumped to the bottom of the page (my guess
because of page header), but after that all field are ok. That bumped field
is placed even below the "page footer". So I end up with following

<Page header>
Field2
Field 3
....
<report footer>

Field 1
---end of page--

I can not figure out how to fix it. Please help.

Hi Alexasha,
I am not sure what you mean with "footer footer". I think you are having
the "page footer" and the "report footer" confused. Where you say the
foototer is showing up at the end of the word document, this would be correct
if you placed the footer textboxes in the report footer, that will show up at
the end of the report.
By using the can grow property you loose control of the formatting you may
have included and the report may no longer be 12.7" long.
I would first make sure that the report prints as desired directly from MS
Access.
Than try the print to Word function. Keep in mind however that the print to
word does not necessarily conver all formatting to the word document, and
does not include any graphics or picture data such as Lines and/or boxes.
Hope this helps a liitle.

I guess my main question is how to make sure that report access footer will
go to word footer. So far I was not able to do this. Also, how to make sure
that Page Header would not interfere with first line on the second page.

Hi Alex. When exporting a report from Access to Word, all you are realy
doing is transfering a text documents that approximates the layout you have
in Access. As such items you may have placed in the page footer in the
Access report should show at the bottom of the page in the Word document but
not in the Word footer band. etc. Also, depending on exact placement of the
textboxes in the Access documents and the fonts and font-sizes used, you may
get overlapping text in anexported word document. I assume what you want is
to export a report to word so you can edit the resulting document, if this is
not the case and all you want is to export a report so you can send it to
others who may not have Access, you could use a PDF writer program such as
cutepdf or an other like program.
Hope this cleared things up.
