How to remove adware and adware nictech from my puter

Yes I or significant other somehow managed to get something on our computer
that makes annoying pop ups come up even if we are not surfing the web.(on
our desktop) I have used my McAfee virus scan repeatedly and used a restore
point from way before this started happening to no avail. But using my virus
scan has brought to my attention = many adware and adware nic tech pups=( on
a daily basis so I believe that is where the problem stems from )
By the way these pop ups are always advertisements and I think this problem
may have arised from my wife accidently clicking on a WINFIXER advertisement!
I do know how to reformat through DOS but have so very much information on my
puter that I would rather not go that route! Thank you so much for any and
all help! Oh and yes I do have McAfee firewall if thats any help!

To remove ad-ware programs you:

1) Un-install any "possible" ad-ware program in Add/Remove Programs
2) locate, download, install, update and run these regularly

Ad Aware SE
Spybot: Search and Destroy 1.4
CWShredder
Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta

Trend Micro's Housecall web site.

3) Once the system is "clean" of ad-wares, run SpywareBlaster to "block"
most possible ad-ware programs from installing.

I wish you had done this for me, I might still be a user of your program,
which by the way is good and I will repurchase again when my conflicting
problems are corrected. Over to you
