How to recover deleted items from the Deleted Items folder?

It looks like if you use Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 without a Microsoft
Exchange Server e-mail account (I use it because the excellent calender
function and connecting to 3-4 POP3 and IMAP accounts), you can't recover
deleted items from the Deleted Items folder? There is no option "Recover
Deleted Items" available under the Tools menu! Is there a program that can
help me retrive ONE little single e-mail.....?
