how to get docked task pane to stay on right rather than top

I am learning to use PowerPoint. I have learned how to dock and undocked the
task pane. However, when I dock the task pane, it docks on top, just under
the formatting toolbar, rather than on the right of the window like it should
be. Please tell me how to fix this and how to prevent such things in the
future.

What John said.

Also, you have to drag it almost off the edge of your scren before it
realizes you really want to dock it. I remember it took me forever to figure
that one out!

Know what you mean Echo but since I have several other toolbars docked right
I dont get that. My problem was that I was always trying to line up the top
of the task pane "in the right position" when it would suddenly jump to top
docked as if by microsoft magic!
