How to enable delete option on master slide layout

I've been trying to adjust a template create on PowerPoint 2003 to PowerPoint
2007, thus I need to delete some layout slides on slide master, but the
option is disable for using.

Does somebody know how to enable this option?

Ligia,
It appears that the layout you are trying to delete is in use in the
presentation. Delete the slide using the said layout or assign another
layout to it. Then delete the layout.
