I use a older P2 233 'winXP pro. How much ram can I
install? Also when the PC boots up it cycles the memory
test 3 or 4 times. Is that normal?
Thank you,

I think you should reread just before you apologize.
He never stated how much RAM he had.

Also your information is incorrect.
Minimum recommended is 128 MB, however the minimum is 64 MB.
Windows XP will run on 64 MB.
Does this make you a liar?
No, neither is the OP.

Daniel;
The question you really need to ask is how much and what kind of RAM
will your motherboard support?
Check your motherboard/computer manual or contact the manufacturer for
details of memory.

With a P2 233 the amount of RAM that you can install will be limited
by the motherboard design. Check the documentation for it.

Windows XP can handle up to 4 gb of RAM but no system with a 233 mhz
Pentium II CPU is going to be able to come anywhere close to allowing
that amount.

Good luck
