How do you fade between songs in powerpoint?

I can get songs to play for say, 10 slides...but then when I want to switch
the song, I don't want it just to stop, and then awkwardly start playing a
new song...I'd like it to have nice sound transitions...how do u do that?

You can't. You'll have to do your fading outside of PowerPoint

I don't understand--are you saying that one should re-record the song and
while recording it--maybe turn the speaker down--or move the song away from
the microphone?

No, you would use a sound editor to edit the sound. Most (all?) sound
editors have a "fade" option of some sort.

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ is a good, free sound editor.

Sorry, should have been a little more explicit. I see that Echo as answered as
usual in a most eloquent manner
