How do I remove a date time stamp from a PPT or POT file?

I received a POT file with a date time stamp located in the lower right hand
corner of the slides. I have turned off everything in the Headers and
Footers with no luck. When the file is called up, it automatically puts the
date and time in the lower right hand corner. I am at my wit's end.

Did you look at the slide master?

I went to the slide master via "View" and clicked on "Master Layout". the
date box was not clicked, but I was able to select the "box" the "date" was
placed in and delete it. Thanks for the info Austin.

You might want to leave that placeholder in the file in case you need it in
future for some reason. Turn off the date in View | Headers and Footers.
