How do I grant share access to a restricted user?

B

Bob Sisson

Ok, I have my kids set up a "restricted users" so they can't mess up the
systems (too badly)

BUT, I want to give them access to a file share on another computer. I keep
getting access denied.

They are listed on the computer with the share with full access for that
share. Their passwords are all unto date and match... but they can't get
in. They have access to another computer with the same setup with no
problem. What am I missing?

Check that the ntfs permissions also allow them access. Even if a user has full
control on a share they need proper ntfs permissions. Also check that the guest
account is disabled on the computer that they are having problems accessing and that
there is not a personal firewall blocking access. --- Steve
