How do I get rid of Paragraph symbols and formating symbols in OL

All of a sudden one of our machines is displaying paragraph and other
formatting symbols on the screen when replying to emails. We are using
Outlook 2003 and Microsoft word editor but there is no SHOW/HIDE buttons on
the tool bar as is indicated in the problem solving section of Outlook.
Anyone know what is going on.

Click the button on the Word toolbar that looks like a paragraph symbol (pilchrow).

Check for commands that are currently hidden on the toolbar by using the little down arrow in the end.

Sue, I am having the same problem -- the symbol is not showing as part of the
standard toolbar. I've changed editor to Word in the email format too. Still
can't find the show/hide paragraph symbol as part of the Standard Tollbar

thanks!

I've tried everything on this message and can not find a way to turn
it off..please help! there isn't a paragraph symbol on my toolbar
nor can i find it when i go to toolbar options. i am pretty sure i
set it by accident somehow. thanks.

In Word, click Tools>Options. On the View tab, uncheck the formatting marks
you don't want to see.

In an new email message select the Format text Ribbon and look in the
Paragraph chunk. The Show/Hide button is in the top right corner of that
chunk.

Wish it was that simple for Outlook 2003. No such "Format text Ribbon" and I
have no idea what a "paragraph chunk" is.
