How do I detach a label from a text box in 2007?

I used the wizard to create my report and want to modify the layout a bit.
However the label and the text box are attached and I can't delete only the
label. Deleting removes them both. There seem to be no handles to grab only
one and treat each item individually.

You should be able to delete just the label and cut. Drag the label away to
he side with the cursor on the black box of the label and right click, then
cut.

I can do this if I make a new text box while in the design view or select and
drag from the "add existing fields" list. I can't separate the label and text
box when it was generated by the wizard. The are attached and dragging side
and deleting effects both the label and text box.

Selecting the text box and hitting Delete will delete both.

Selecting the label and hitting Delete will only delete the
label.

As far as I can see, that is not true. I am using Access 2007 in Windows XP,
and no matter whether I click the label or the control, doing a delete gets
rid of both. I'd like to be able to move and/or delete the label only!

Try clicking the label or text box, right mouse click and then select
UNgroup.

In Access 2007, you open report in design view, select the control(s) and
click Arrange on the menu at top.
Then Remove (remove layout of controls).

In what view? When I right click, there is no "Ungroup" in the list
provided.

Thanks Damon.

It worked.

Will invest the USD 225 to study MS Access from Learnkey online training.
