How Do I Clearing Previous Searches

I did an ebay search for a gift for my wife, now anytime
you click in the search box on that page, the item I
searched for comes up. I have noticeds that the same
thing happens in google. I need to find a way to purge
these searches so that it won't be obvious what the gift
is. I have cleared my history and cache and cookies and
none of these seem to work. Any ideas? Thanks for your

Use AutoComplete for:
[+] web addresses
[+] forms
[+] user names...
also press clear history button

In listing find:
Search from the Address bar
--When searching
() Display results, and go to the most likely site.
() Do not search from the Address bar.
() Just dispaly the results in main window.

change history to 1-2 days.
pick clear history button
pick ok

in search/find window
on left column pick "more advanced options"
slide down to "change preferences"
pick "turn autocomplete off"

There are lots of autocomplete features in XP. If you are
referring to the URLs then you will need to turn
off "show
friendly URLs" and "Show friendly HTTP error messages"
and "use inline AutoComplete" and so on. These are in the
tools\internet options-advanced tab.
