How Do I Bypass The Logon Screen?

When installing WinXP (or 2K) you are given an option to
assume that a user logs in all the time. After checking
this option Windows will go directly to the desktop
without stopping at the login screen every time you start
the computer. But after a few weeks or so, the login
screen reappears.
Is there a way to bypass this login screen without
reinstalling Windows?

Either use tweakui's autologon feature or type control userpasswords2 at the
run prompt. Uncheck 'users must enter...' Click ok and you will be presented
a prompt to enter the username and password to logon automatically.

Hi

If you want to bypass the Welcome screen, try this:

From Start>Run type in

control userpasswords2

then uncheck 'Users must enter a user name and password to use this
computer' and click 'Apply'. On the next screen - 'Automatically Log On' -
delete the name 'Administrator' from the User name box and enter your
account name and then the password in the next two boxes. OK your way out
and then reboot your system.

Or you can use Tweak UI:

You can download TweakUI from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp and when
installed go to Programs>Powertoys for Windows XP>Tweak UI - then go to
Logon>Autologon.

Also you can add the Dialog box that comes up when running control
userpasswords 2 to the Control Panel with the following tweak:

Add Control User Passwords2 to the Control Panel (Line 1)
