I like Windows Media Player because of its appearance,
visualisations and the ability to obtain album from the
internet ; and most of my music is stored in player lists
using this programme. Unfortunately, Radio 4 plays and
certain other things can only be played by Real One
Player.
As a result I am obliged to have both programmes on my
computer.
I recently downloaded a number of single tracks from the
internet and a stored them in an a sub file of C/my
music/, but now I find that I am unable to play them using
Windows Media Player.
Using 'Explorer' I looked at these files and find found
that they were each marked with a Real One symbol. I
selected one of these, clicked properties, to and tried to
change it to "play with Windows Media Player", but without
any success.
Does anyone know a way to allow these Real One tracks to
be played using Windows Media Player, and can anyone
explain why they didn't work automatically. Would "making
Windows Media Player my default Player" have helped, and
how would I do this anyway. It looks like I am missing a
lot of background information here and any general advice
of/exclamation would be appreciated.

Thanks for your help - Ian
