How can I stop Word from formatting everything I Type?

Please could someone help me to stop all the automatic formatting in Word
2003. Every word document that I create is different but word wants me to do
it like the last one. I just want to be able to type what I want, where I
want it and how I want it.

In Word, click on Tools | AutoCorrect Options | AutoFormat As You
Type tab | <uncheck the features you don't want> | AutoCorrect
tab | <uncheck the features you don't want> | OK.
