How can I stop getting the same emails multiple times?

I keep getting the same emails time after time. When a new one comes in I
get that one and all the previous ones for a period of time, sometimes as
many as 30 or 40.

Anyone had that experience and how did you fix it??

thanks

This is most often a problem with the ISP, or whoever has the email server
that you connect to. You would need to speak with them and let them know what
is happening. There are certain "virus" emails that can lock up an email
system, and they will have to clean out that item before things go back to
normal.

Several things can cause this. Scanning incoming messages with an antivirus
program is one thing that can cause this. Outlook 2003 has this problem
under some conditions. See http://support.microsoft.com/?id=885870. A
too-short send/receive interval or server timeout value can contribute as
well.

It's always a good idea to mention your Outlook version and account type
when posting a question. Otherwise, any answer you might receive is only a
guess.
