how can i overcome the 0x8004210A error when emailing?

I have checked for updates and MS site advises none are needed. Not sure
where to go from here. I can only send/receive email by disabling Norton
Symantec software. This defeats the purpose of having the software.

But is does indicate that Norton is your issue and not Outlook.

Virusscanners integrating with Outlook doesn't offer you an additional level
of protection though. You are still using the same anti-virus definitions so
even if you manage to doubleclick on a virus the anti-virus software will
kick in.
