i have an e machines T-1120 with Windows XP service pack 2.
Today I ourchased a LogiTechChat headset. I plugged the coonectors in the
rear and though I can hear perfectly, no one can hear me.

I have done the following:

1. ensured all connections are correct .
2.ensured headset mic is not muted
3. I also made sure that the volumes on Start/Control Panel/Sounds and
Devices/Volume and Advanced are not muted

Yes the headset had a small brochure but I already followed the
connection/setup instructions
I have posted my problem on Logitech's website but have received no reply
When I try the sound recorder on Windows it will not record; do you know
what the problem is?

Logitech support and I tested the microphoen through the Windows microphone
recorder. The microphone works with another computer, co Logitech suggested
it could be the sound card.

I contacted E Machines and they said that drivers might be missing or
corrupted, but would not advise how to correc this , except by saying I could
use the system restore.

1. how can I troubleshoot my system to determine if it is a sound card
problem?

2. if it is the card, it is part of the motherboard (LM810E); can I just
replace a sound portion?

3. if not the card but the driver (s), how do I fix this- do I need to
download/reinstall sound drivers?
