How can I force IE to prompt for password on secure site?

Dario de Judicibus

I have the following problem with IE: if I try to access a secure site, IE
does NOT prompt me anymore for password as in the past, but goes ahead to
access the site with no result. I can access the site from another computer:
I am prompted for password and I get it. I suspect that IE stored a wrong
password but for some reason does not ask me for the good one. Why? Can I
force IE to ask me the password?

Hi,
Assuming Windows XP...
1. Go to Control Panel> User Accounts> [UserName]> Manage network passwords,
clear any login information for that site.
2. Install and run (freeware) Protected Storage PassView from NirSoft:
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/pspv.html Remove any stored passwords for that
site.
3. Internet Options> Security> Internet Zone> Custom Level> User
Authentication> (select) "Prompt for user name and password." If the site
has been placed in another zone (Intranet or Trusted Sites) "Prompt for
username..." may need to be selected there also.

Hope this helps,
Don

Thank you. I'll try PSPV first.
