How can i acces my email account at work on my computer at home?

Hi, I'm not really familiar on all the microsoft outlook features. I read
that some of the people here can access their email accout at work when they
are at home using their home computer . Can you please tell me how did you
guys set it up? Did you have to buy a new software for that? Thanks for this
great website.
Your reply and help will be much appreciated.

If you're using an Exchange Server in the office see if they've got Outlook
Web Access available

Hi Vince, thanks for your reply. Our situation at work right now is like
this...their is 15 of us and we got our own computer with our own microsoft
outlook email account on it. everybody got this email address like this..
name@name of our company.com . We paid someone to set up all our email
account for us like that. Now we want to be able to access our emails at
work when we are at home so we called our server and they can do it for us
but it's just very expensive. We doesn't want to spend that much of money
just for an email access at home. It's just too much..So i try to search and
get info about that and i'm glad to find this website. Hope you can help me
find out how we can do it for a better and cheaper way. thank you very much.
and I'll be happy to hear an answer from you.

It's easily done by most servers. If your service provider is trying to
charge you for it then you should look for a new service provider. Even
RoadRunner provides free Webmail to their users.

What type of account do you use at work? Exchange? POP? IMAP? If either
of the latter two, set up the account at home to match what's at work. If a
POP account, make sure you tell Outlook to leave copies of the messages on
the server when you create the account.
