How can a Windows 2000 Pro. workstation, which haven't connected to the AD, to change a user passwor

Dear All,

Some user in our site don't need to login to the AD, but they will use
Outlook to connect a Exchange 2000 server. When these users are using
Windows 98, they can run 'net password' command in their machine to change
the AD password. However, after some of them upgraded to Windows 2000 Pro.,
we found there is no 'net password' command to change the AD password.

Is there any other method to change the AD password without login to the AD?

Thanks.

Passing thought: have you considered Outlook Web Access ?

Anyway, there is a NET USER command in 2000. Type NET HELP USER for
documentation or look here: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=251394

I don't know how it works with AD when you aren't logged in. It says "This
command works only on servers" but I used in on my XP Pro workstation so...

Thanks.

The user is using MS Outlook 97 and 2000 to connect Exchange 2000 server,
not Outlook Web Access. Moreover, the NET USER only work on Windows 2000
Pro. already logged in to the AD, but not for Windows 2000/XP Pro without
logged in to the AD. If use this command in a Windows 2000/XP Pro. without
AD connection the following error will be prompted.

-----------------------
[STWONG] C:\>net user stwong * /domain
The request will be processed at a domain controller for domain cehl.com.

System error 1326 has occurred.

Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.
