Home Video Made into DVD for TV Viewing

I have made a digital tape of our vacation using a Canon ZR300 camcorder. I
am a novice to all this - first time trying this. I would like to make a DVD
of this vacation to be able to see it on the TV. I have Windows XP with
Movie Maker. In looking at the manual it only looks like I can make a cd.
I made the cd but the voices that were on the tape did not pick up - what did
I do wrong?

2nd question - What do I need to make a DVD?

You'll need to provide more details as to how you
connected your camcorder, and captured the video
to your PC. Did you use IEEE-1394 (FireWire)?

As for your second question, you'll need a DVD
RW drive (burner), and DVD authoring/burning
software. In Movie Maker you would save your
movie in DV-AVI format, then import that move
into your DVD software.
