I am trying to prepare a report for one of my college classes, and all these
zigzag lines keep popping up across the page. They seem to show up more when
I use formatting tools (like the 'indent' buttons). I even tried copying and
pasting my text into a separate, blank Word file, but the zigzag lines copied
right along with the text - along with several extra zigzags! HELP! I can't
get these little monsters off!

If you're describing wavy underlines under your text, what color are they? This
help page tells you what each color means:
http://office.microsoft.com/assista...C010227131033&QueryID=6_ZEFgFkK&respos=3&rt=2

If they're black and go all the way across the page, then they're paragraph
borders created by the AutoFormat As You Type feature. See
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/CantGetRidOfLine.htm for instructions
to remove and avoid them.
