help with erasing files that are being used?

Hi - I am having a problem I hope yuo can help me with. It is probably
really simple, but I just can't figure it out...
(using XP Home)

Anyway, I have a small video file on my desktop that I cannot erase. Every
time, I get the error msg that I can't erase the file because it "is being
used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using
the file and try again."

Okay, but the thing is that I do not have any programs opened, and made sure
that the file was not still on a playlist or in any recently-opened list.
Is there a way to erase the file and be done with it?

Thanks for any help in getting rid of this!

Hi,

Open the media player, delete the file from the playlist. Then close the
media player and retry deleting the file.
