Help-Start up unsuccessful!!!

Cheryl

Hello,
I am running Windows XP Professional and everytime I try
to start up my computer it appear to boot as normal but
then a blue screen with white writing flashes for barely a
second and then my computer restarts itself before
reaching the user logon screen. I have been able to use it
through safe mode only. I have attempted system restore at
two different restore points, each of which ended
incomplete. If anyone has any clue what could be happening
here or how I might remedy the problem please respond!

What did you do before this started happening?

Have you tried a repair installation?

I did not install any new devices or software/programs.
As far as I know, nothing significant happened ( pwer
surge etc.) What do you mean by repair installation? I do
not have my original OS disk. Is there something in my
system tools that might repair this problem? I have also
scanned several times for viruses and come out clean.
