Help! P4P800 deluxe and Antec Sonata firewire connection?

I got this board to go with an Antec Sonata Case so I can use the
front firewire port. But the case wire has 6 connectors on it while
the board has a 10-1 pin connection. I've figured out where the 4 data
pins go(TPA + -,TPB + -), but the board has 3 ground pin and 2 12v
power pins and the case wire only has 1 ground and 1 12v power
connector. So my question is which ground and power pin on the board
do I use. It's the first time I'm putting a system together and would
not want to mess up! Asus hasn't help nor has the tech from the store
I bought the parts from. Thanks for any info I can get.

The info is up on the Antec site. The wiring in the paper Antec manual does
not match what the Asus manual says regarding the connectors but they have
corrected the info online and it is there in their Support site.

Hi John, All I can find at the Antec support site is reference to wiring
the audio not the firewire. They did have a post on the color codes but
thats not what I need. I require info on which ground and power pins to use
..

Yes - your're right. It is the audio and not the firewire.

In which case the info is in your Antec and Asus manuals. I can say that
with confident because the last time I built a PC prior to this was about 6
years ago and I had no idea what connectors went where when putting together
Sonata and P4P800.

I simply followed both manuals and worked out between them what went where
with the exception of that info on the audio which I got from the online
site. Doesn't your two manuals have this info between them? Sorry, but are
you sure?

Unfortunately there is no reference to connect 6 pin wire to a 10-1
connector on the board. The tech I spoke to,from the store said that he
couldn't help because there were no set standard yet on firewire connection
unlike there is on USB! HE suggested that I contact ASUS but haven't receive
any replies. Do you have the same setup and if so how did you connect the
front firewire port to the P4P800 Deluxe? thanks for any help!

I had the same problem, I finally figured out that the pins were
backwards on the fireport in the front of the Sonata case. I ran a
meter and determined that the twisted pair cables were backwards (TPA+
was really TPA- and vice versa)

The same was true for TPB, the power and ground wires are correct.
Just switch the TPA and TPB pins around and it should work.
