The downloads start-look like they are downloading-then the
download screen blinks off-then nothing! No download-no
file-nothing.

Give an example.
Anything in the Event Log?
Tried in Firefox or an alternative browser?
When I try to download my payckeck stub(pdf format) it looks like
it's downloading and then after it's done it blinks off and never
opens.I cannot downlaod attachments on yahoo email. If I try to
download a program file off of the internet,it does the same thing
as the pdf file.I do not have any other browsers, and really do not
want any others.I also tried a restore point,but it didn't work.I
unistalled and re-downloaded adobe, but that didn't fix it.As far as
the event log,I have no clue about this.Thanks-George
So.. What I am reading now is that the only file(s) you are having trouble
with are Adobe PDFs.
Two things to try..
1) Go download a PDF and SAVE it - do not open it. Then open Adobe Acrobat
Reader and do a File --> Open and open the file.. Does that work?
2) Change Adobe Acrobat Reader so that it opens "inside the browser" *if* it
is not set that way now - and set it to NOT open "inside the browser" if it
is set to open in the browser window. Then try your download again.
Otherwise.. You need to uninstall Adobe Acrobat Reader completely.
You'll then have to reboot, log in as an administrative level user, open
registry editor and delete all Adobe Acrobat related keys.
You'll then have to look through your hard drive (Program Files.. Program
Files\Common.. Etc..) and delete every directory related to Adobe Acrobat.
Reboot.
Download the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader (7.0.7) and install it.
