Hardware installed but XP prompt re 'new hardware' keeps appearing

I have a Umax Scanner. The driver comes bundled on a cd with Presto Page
Manager and Vistascan. I installed the driver successfully from the disc.
The scanner works. However, every time I boot up a 'new hardware' window
pops up for the scanner. If I use the Wizard to install the driver it says
it cannot trace the driver on the disc. How can I stop this prompt
appearing?
