You may have spyware software on your system. Clean these "spyware" software
off.

Is your hard drive making "clunk"ing sounds? If yes, get a replacement drive
soon.

Yes. Back up your data and replace the hard drive. You can run a
diagnostic utility downloaded from the drive mftr.'s website, but
noises like that are a good indication that the drive is failing or has
already died.

However, since your post refers to unplugging the hard drive when you
really mean unplugging the computer, you may want to have a
professional look at the machine instead. The sound may not be coming
from the hard drive at all.

no it is not "clinking" just like it's constanly running "buzzing" . I did
run a spy sweep, and virus scan.
thanks,

What do you mean by "tried rebooting and also unplugging it"?
Can you explain more "it is still buzzing"?

If the drive checks out okay then it is possible that the noises are
coming from another source, such as a cooling fan.

I suggest you ask in an appropriate hardware group. The noise your
hard drive makes has nothing to do with the OS.

This person has as much right to post here as you have the right to tell him
not to.

Funny! I don't remember seeing a helpful reply from you - EVER!
