General failure when pinging local nic after Basic to Premium Upgr

I can't get IP to work with any hardware(copper or wireless) after upgrading
to Vista Premium from Vista Basic. How can I fix this or downgrade to Basic
without losing all my programs and files?

Hi Jeff,

You can't downgrade. Have you tried reinstalling the 'nic drivers?

Alternately, what do you seen when you run ipconfig /all from a cmd prompt?

What did you mean with can't get it to work? Configure ip addresses, ping
install the NIC? Please some more details.

I have reinstalled nic drivers and deleted and removed nics and reinstalled.
I was going to reinstall th IP stack but couldn't find the command in Vista.

The NIC installs fine, I can't get DHCP to the PC. Also, if I put in a
static IP address I still can't get to my router to get out to the internet.

What is the IP address of your router?

What static address/mask/gateway & DNS addresses have you configured?
