My new-build modo (Abit AV8) has internal jumpers which select either rear
audio socketry or front-panel connectors. I'd rather assumed that the front
panel sockets would be switched in some way so that if nothing was plugged
into the front socket, the rear audio outputs would be enabled - but I'm
guessing from the manual that this is not the case.
It seems odd, as I had planned to have my main speakers connected to the
rear ports and occasionally plug a headset into the front panel socket.
I guess it's no biggie though, I currently use an external switchbox but
I'd rather hoped I could ditch it with my new system.
