Fresh Windows install, Cant view any websites except google.

I formatted my hardrive and have reinstalled windows xp pro sp2. I
connect to the internet through windows "Internet Connection Sharing".
My MTU matches the one on the computer that has the modem (I read
somewhere that it could be a problem). I try to go to any website other
than google and it never finishes loading. Any software I have
installed (from another disk drive) has problems updating so i dont
think the problem is internet explorer.
Has anyone every had this problem or know how to fix it?
