Forms and sub-forms- design view display

Amit

This may be quite simple, but I am not able to figure it
out. I have a subform in a main form. When I look at the
main form in design view, I see the subform (with all its
fields in design view) inside the main form. But, I've
seen other forms with subforms which when opened in design
view, do not display the subform details. They have a
placeholder with the name of the subform instead of
displaying the subform. Not sure how to design the form so
that the details of subform are "hidden".

Thanks in advance.

This happens to me also. I don't know why but I also don't have my
Access 2000 up-to-date. I only have SP1. Since I don't have any
problems that would require the other SPs, I won't get them.

When I get this, I go to form view then back into design view then the
subform fields are shown.

Maybe I do need another SP but it doesn't bother me that much since it
doesn't happen very often.

Dave:

I figured it out. The difference is in creating a subform
beforehand and then placing it in the main form (this
shows the details of the subform), as compared to creating
the main form and the subform using the Wizard (hides the
details of the subform in design view).
