Form checkboxes dissapear

I am currently using Word 2000 on Windows 2000. All of my
checkboxes in my form have dissappeared. I turn on field
codes and the field codes are still visible, but I turn
off field codes and they are gone. Is there an easy way to
get the check boxes to show back up or do I need to readd
them to the form?

Click on the formfield shading button on the forms toolbar. Are they then
visible?

Is the field code that appears { FORMCHECKBOX }?
